This was my 5th tour of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary and by far my favorite tour for the following reasons: By far the main reason is that Ertunga Ecir is the best Tour Guide that I have ever had anywhere. He has an incredible depth of knowledge of the history and culture of Turkey and he has a easy and relatable manner. His first career was a school teacher, so maybe this gave him some tools that allow him to explain a narrative at any level of detail based on his audience. My family of 6 ranged from my wife who grew up in Izmir to my 2 grandchildren 14yrs & 19yrs and their parents. We all thought him very interesting with thoughtful insight. It was our pleasure to have his company! This was a private tour with just my family of 6. He was very agreeable to designing the tour to our specific requests of timing and what we wanted to see.
