We have just completed a 22 day tour from Istanbul, down the west side as
far as Antalya, then to Ankara and back to Istanbul.
Our guide was Necat and driver was Yelcin. We couldn't have asked for a
better team.
Necat is so enthusiastic and patriotic about his country, so we learned so
much about the history, the background story and the progress with the
archeological digs. Necat is a qualified and certified guide, which means he
has studied the history and sites that he took us too.
He is also very easy to get along with, passionate about everything and
passionate about making sure that you get to see and understand how
stunning these places are and the incredible history.
He also explained the stories about all the rulers between the sites too, with
the seven churches, the rulers who set up the cities, built the buildings and
what incredible feats of workmanship and engineering skills they had.
We also learned about the mythology as well.
He also loves food, so we got to eat in amazing local restaurants with
fabulous food, served by lovely, friendly people.
The countryside is stunning and changes constantly. We were gob
smacked by the beauty of places like Pamukkale and Cappadocia.
We did two short boat trips and the balloon flight in Cappadocia. We also
visited the carpet and ceramic places in Cappadocia. Both worth visiting
too.
Necat is a true gentleman as well and looked after us well, making sure at
all times that we were ok, comfortable and on time for pick ups. He is also
very funny and fun to be with, so we did have a lot of laughs as well.
We did 12,000 kms of driving and Yelcin never missed a beat. I am
normally a nervous passenger, but I felt so safe and comfortable with his
driving. We had many long days too. The van was always clean and the
fridge stocked with water and drinks. The van is airconditioned and very
comfortable. There are USB plugs too for charging.
