Ertunga was simply great! Born and raised the area, he is very knowledgeable of the history of Ephesus and Kusadasi and his English is great. We started our tour with Ephesus and he gave us many choices of sites to see next. After Ephesus, we visited the house of the Virgin Mary (which is a must see). Ertunga took us to a local restaurant for lunch which is located next to a carpet factory. He gave us the option of seeing the carpet factory without any pressure. We then visited the tomb of Saint John and he also took us to a neat overlook of the entire city of Kusadasi. I would highly recommend visiting Kusadasi/Ephesus and I would also highly recommend Ertunga!
Our family of 5 recently toured the Ephesus area with Ertunga and had a fantastic time. He, along with a wonderful driver in a very nice, air-conditioned van, picked us up at the port of Kusadasi and we were off for the day. Ertunga’s knowledge of the area is exceptional. He was very flexible and allowed us to choose what we wanted to do and see but had good recommendations when we asked. We loved visiting this area and would like to visit again. It is beautiful and rich in history. We highly recommend Ertunga if you’re needing a guide in the area.
I am a travel agent and I have been recommending Ertunga to my clients for the past 3 years. O only received positive feedback. This time, it was my turn to visit Kusadasi and of course, I hired Ertunga as I finally had the chance to meet him. We were a group of 5. He welcomed us at the port and had a very comfortable van waiting for us. He took us to visit the ruins of Ephesus. We only had 3 hours available to complete our tour so we opted to visit the Virgin Mary’s House, a pilgrimage site located not far from Ephesus, instead of the Terrace Houses in Ephesus. I wish we had spent more time in Ephesus, a beautiful and interesting site, and visited the Terrace Houses. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the story behind each monument within Ephesus. I will definitely continue to recommend Ertunga to my clients. The incremental cost for this private excursion over a group tour offered by the cruise lines is nominal. It is well worth it to use Ertunga’s services. Thank you again, Ertunga.
Last month while on a cruise of the Eastern Mediterranean we had a stop over in Kusadasi. At the recommendation of TripAdvisor we discoverd Ertunga – and what a find! Our day in Ephesus was one of the best of the trip. Ertunga is very knowledgeable and professional. We were a group of six who all had different ideas of what we wanted out of our trip – whether it was seeing the sites, shopping, or getting some authentic food, and I feel that Ertunga managed to please all of us! This tour was a great value split 6 ways! With the entrance fees to sites, lunch and parking it ended up being around $60-70 per person which was great – and we could pay in US dollars.
Ertunga himself was wonderful. He was prompt in his response to email, and was very flexible when our ship had a change in itenerary – he was prompt in his arrival to meet us at the ship (even though we ran late), and despite a little transportation hiccup with the van he got us everywhere we wanted to go, and even introduced us to Turkish rug making – something I did not realize was nearly as interesting as it was. He gave us time to shop, see all the sites including the Virgin Mary’s House, St John’s Basilica, the Temple of Artemis (from a distance), and of course Ephesus – one of the most impressive ruins I have ever been to! He even convinced us that Turkey is a great idea for a future travel destination!
I would not hesitate to contact Ertunga again, and I would certainly send any friends or family going to Turkey his way! Thank you Ertunga for a fantastic day!
