Ertunga runs a very professional tour agency. He communicates promptly and with all of the necessary details. I had previously enjoyed a tour in Ephesus (3 yrs ago) with him but this last summer he was very busy (can see why!) and sent one of his agency’s guide. Our guide was on time as requested by 7:30am. He was very well informed, patient, and charming. My brother in-law, sister and my niece were also very pleased with our tour in Ephesus (their first time, my 3rd!) and our visit to the small nearby town of Sirince. I wanted them to experience something different and enjoy some good Turkish food. The restaurant we visited had outdoor / shade seating and we truly liked being able to see the people walk by and feel the breeze. The food and service was excellent! I will always recommend Ephesus Tour Guide -Ertunga!!!
We recently used Ertunga as our guide in Ephesus. We had such a wonderful experience. From the start he was quick to email us back and answered lots of questions, making sure to plan our visit specifically for us. He picked us up at Kusadasi port and everything went perfectly. He is an excellent guide with extensive knowledge about his home. He was very intuitive about giving lots of information but not more than we wanted. We especially enjoyed our time in the Terrace Houses. Don’t go to Ephesus without seeing them. Ertunga also arranged for us to have lunch with a private resident of Sirince Village. It was a delicious meal, but more importantly we felt like we really had a unique and charming opportunity. Ertunga was totally flexible and we were able to see even more than we had hoped. I can’t imagine being part of one of those large group tours when you could have such an amazing and personal experience at a completely reasonable cost with Ertunga. When we go back to visit Istanbul we will do it with Ertunga.
I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said our guided tour of Ephesus with Ertunga was one of the highlights of our Mediterranean cruise. Of all our stops (Sicily, Greece, Turkey, Crete), the ruins at Ephesus was one of my favorites. But the day wouldn’t have been nearly as amazing if it weren’t for Ertunga. He was extremely well versed in the history of the area and Ephesus-so much so that my husband took to recording him whenever he spoke. He didn’t rush us through anything and gave us plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the ruins on our own. The nice thing about touring Ephesus with Ertunga is the added bonus of visiting the terrace houses there. They don’t allow large groups, but if you are one-on-one with a guide, you can pay the extra fee to tour the houses…and they are SO amazing. Definitely worth the added cost (which is minimal). Even better? Eating an authentic Turkish meal at a local woman’s home. This completed our perfect day in Turkey and wouldn’t have been possible without Ertunga. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone stopping in Turkey.
We had a group of 21 and we booked a private bus with Ertunga. Ertunga’s knowlegde of Ephesus and his many stories about the life and symbols of Ephesus made this port our favorite stop during our recent cruise in August. Our group ranging in age from early 50’s to 10, all equally enjoyed and learned so much from Ertunga. On top of that the price was great. Highly recommend the tour with Ertunga and the flexibility accommodation he provided.
We enjoyed our tour with Ertunga and appreciated his knowledge of Ephesus. Day was rather warm and Ertunga knew all the shady spots where we could rest while hearing about ancient Ephesian life and legends. We visited Ephesus on a day when there were several cruise ships in port and notices many large (30 – 50) tour groups. It was so much nicer to experience the city in a small group.
Tour included visits to Virgin Mary’s house, ancient Ephesus ruins, the Terrace houses (our favorite), and St. John’s Basilica.
Lunch was a fixed menu of fresh local food on an outdoor porch of Turkish restaurant. We enjoyed it along with some Turkish beer.
Ertunga was quite accommodating and was happy to modify tours to suit our needs.
I saw Ertuga’s reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to contact him. He was great! Ertuga met us at the airport and quickly brought us to Ephesus. Had a wonder ful private tour. The next day, we were planning a trip to Pamukale. Ertuga suggested a detour to Aphrodisia. We were wowed by it. To our surprise, we enjoyed this unexpected site much more than Ephesus. We were diappointed in Pamukale as we did not want to swim. If you go, make sure you do the side trip – or better yet, just do Aphosisia. Thank you Ertuga for a wonderful time.
