We were greeted at the pier by Bulent with a sign with our name. We walked quite a distance out of the port and across the street where our driver met us. We got excellent historical information all day from Bulent. His English was excellent and his information abundant. Our 1st stop was Mary’s House and we beat the ship tour buses. We walked right in and only encountered the ship tours on our way out at the wall of notes or the fountain of holy water. We headed to Ephesus and did wait in line a while for tickets. Bulent provided an extensive history and then we walked through Ephesus and the Terrace Houses. We headed to St Johns – more history – and a tour of the site. We drove to the Temple of Artemus and only 2 in my group had anything left to step down and see the site. Our final stop was Sirince where we quickly stopped for lunch and had Bulent join us, He suggested local specialties which we tried and then took me on a walking tour of the old town. I stopped for ice cream – flavor was cantaloupe – it tasted like cantaloupe and even had the seeds. An overall excellent day in a very comfortable minivan with a very knowledgeable guide. Thank you.
